Joan McGirr is a patient advocate to healthcare providers who approaches healthcare between the patient and caregiver. She suggests looking at alternatives before using restraints because the patient may become restless, agitated, and have conditions causing certain behaviors. This video program is a study guide which offers evaluation of patient restraints, offers different alternatives, and provides a step by step guide to the different restraints and proper application. The pleasing background music and the clear color quality throughout the program add to the presentation of this subject. This is an excellent program for professionals in the medical field and a medical library.
