A Baptism of Fire is a stark portrayal of the gut wrenching and life risking world of today’s freelance photo-journalist!

~ Malcolm L. Rigsby

This film brings each viewer to the front line of life as a freelance photo-journalist. Not only is it excellent as a tool for evaluating the psychological and social impact of journalism on world media but also an excellent means to try to understand the effect of this career on the journalist and the profession as a whole. Hence not only individuals and groups interested in current event reporting procedures will benefit from this film, but also students and others interested in entering the profession. It may also be helpful in evaluative therapy groups for professionals who may be suffering psychological or physical effects of being in the profession in today’s climate.

A Baptism of Fire would be excellent for sociology, psychology and journalism classes to view and discuss the personal and social effects of the profession as well as for gaining an appreciation for those who are willing to place life and limb in jeopardy in order to bring news to the world.
