Reviewed by Brad Eden, Ph.D., Dean of Library Services, Valparaiso UniversityThis film is a look at America's oldest weekly magazine, The Nation. Following the current editor, Katrina vanden Heuvel, it captures the hectic and pressure-filled challenges of producing a weekly magazine in today's world of social media and unfettered access to world events through the Internet. The history of The Nation from its beginnings in 1865 by Republican abolitionists to its liberal bent during Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal up to the present are detailed and discussed. A wonderful examination of current-day journalism at a well-respected and time-honored publication venue.
