Reviewed by Michael Fein, Coordinator of Library Services, Central Virginia Community College, Lynchburg, VAThis beautifully filmed production follows the annual journey a number of Lakota make to commemorate the 300-mile walk that their ancestors made in 1890 to Wounded Knee. There, in December of that year, some 350 Lakota were massacred. The film follows those who ride their horses and those who are in support vehicles, elders, many who have been on this journey in their youths, and the young to whom the elders wish to impart the Lakota history, traditions, and way of life. The young are brimming with the excitement, and angst, of youth. Production standards are very high with no perceived problems with the audio or visual. Recommended for collections in Native American history and sociology and American history.
