It covers its effects on the body, and how addiction often leads to overdose and death. The film utilizes interview segments with youth and young adults on their respective journeys involving opioids, highlighting how easy it is to become addicted. Additionally, news program footage, celebrity deaths from opioid overdose, and information from the Centers for Disease Control further illustrate that opioid addiction is a growing problem. Information is provided on how to identify that someone is addicted to opioids and how to help them. The most commonly abused opioids, and the process for detoxing are included. A teacher’s guide is also included with the DVD. This film will be a useful resource for counselors, educators, and parents.
