What is life like in the zip code with the greatest percentage (per capita) of incarcerations in the United States? Milwaukee, Wisconsin has the highest percentage of incarcerated African-American males of any other locale in the United States. This film does a fairly good job of documenting the challenges facing persons living in this community, particularly African-American males. One family, in particular, is followed as they talk about how they deal with their husband/father’s long-term incarceration. The film also gives insight into efforts being made by various advocacy groups to help people in this community realize they don’t have to repeat their old lifestyle patterns. This film will be a good addition to library collections supporting criminal justice, social work, family studies, and sociology courses.
