This film explores the need for criminal justice reform. The case is a Mexican prisoner on death row for a crime that evidence shows he did not commit. Viewers of this film should also review the film In Pursuit of Justice, which describes a similar case but adds how reform cases are reviewed and forensics evidence processed has led to some exonerations. The film also calls attention to how criminal justice systems in the United States and Mexico function collaboratively, and in relation to the International Court of Justice and the Vienna Convention, in terms of native detainees in a foreign land. A good film for someone studying criminal justice and criminal just reform mechanisms.
