Reviewed by Johnnie N. Gray, Technology Services Librarian, Christopher Newport UniversityBarbara Hammer was an unapologetic lesbian artist and experimental filmmaker who championed feminism. This short provides a quick overview of the legacy of Barbara as her partner, Florrie Burke is put in charge of the archives and of Barbara's legacy. Glimpses of Barbara working, the films, and her artwork are teased while a narrative of the groundbreaking work is voiced by Florrie. Florrie is seen looking at some films that were never seen and it shows the intimacy and connection they shared. This short becomes a loving conversation between the two.
Suitable for those interested in LGBTQ+ history and experimental filmmaking - college-aged and up. This would work well being shown with other media from feminist pioneers.
