Reviewed by Barbara Wetzel, Villa Maria College, Buffalo, New YorkBicycle enthusiasts leave their home state of Iowa to follow their dreams of cycling across America. The riders make up a diverse population of ages, different positions in life, and have many interests. They come together to make this ride through the various states. The riders see their share of struggles, accidents, and different weather conditions which test their dedication, perseverance, and endurance to the end of the trip. While filming this trip the sound quality is poor during the street interviews as background noise is loud and there are lots of areas where laughter becomes annoying. The film editing leaves the viewer lost in a disjointed storyline. The scenes change and cut around too quickly when trying to capture the synopsis and highlights of the trip. After seeing only part one, I cannot recommend this videocassette for purchase for academic libraries on limited budgets or for collection development in any subject area. Best suited for public libraries looking for an introduction to a cycling program presentation.
