Autism: Far Away Eyes provides a basic definition of autism and shows autistic children interacting in the classroom. Narration is provided by the children's teacher, with dream-like music in the background. The music along with the less than ideal quality of the film made the film seem older than it actually is.

The teacher discusses how her autistic children are taught. We see specific children in the classroom and learn of each one's special difficulties. Some of the information that was presented was less known - such as the fact that autism is four times more common in boys.

As the program progresses, the viewer is suddenly drawn into the world of the teacher. She talks about her husband and her expected child. Although she relates these facts to her teaching, it seems as though the video should really be titled "A Teacher's Experiences with Autism."

Anyone who knows little about autism could learn from this short program. More in-depth researchers should look elsewhere.
