This video, part of a series which offers 4-6 individual segments in each program, focuses on transportation advances that are revolutionary and innovative in their technology. The Europa is a portable airplane that is a build-it-yourself kit, able to carry two people with baggage, that can fit in a standard garage. The Skymap system is a moving map display that is affordable for pilots, and uses data generated by the world-wide Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite. The Leopard Jet is the smallest 4-seater aircraft in the world, able to travel at 800 kilometers an hour, and can travel 2 1/2 thousand kilometers at one time. The WR Falcon is the world's first model aircraft that requires no flying experience to control and operate. Finally, the video examines research in advances in fire-resistant materials to be used in trains, planes, and automobiles.

This video is recommended for classes dealing with transportation and current technology issues. European (especially United Kingdom) advances in transportation technology are specifically targeted, so this video should be viewed in conjunction with reports dealing with other countries and their transportation technologies as well.
