This video, part of a series which offers 4-6 individual segments in each program, focuses on computer technology advances that are revolutionary and innovative in their technology. This particular video contains seven short "infomercials.” The Signature Check is a computer program that can identify people by looking at how they write their signatures. Sundials Tech is a computer program that can automatically control an engraving machine to produce accurate sundials, which are extremely valuable in Third World countries. Oar Strain is a computer program that the Cambridge Rowing Team uses to maximize their performance, which measures the strain on oars. Crowd Movement uses mathematical models to design ways to handle crowd movement. Micromap is a computer program that shrinks maps to credit card size, wraps them in weatherproof plastic, and provides a magnifier for reading. Hovercam is a miniature helicopter that is rigged with a video camera, which allows filmmakers and others to obtain impossible camera shots. Finally, Universal Plastic discusses how Visa cash cards assist consumers with small change purchases and non-cash transactions.

This video is recommended for classes dealing with computer technology issues. European (especially United Kingdom) advances in computer technology are specifically targeted, so this video should be viewed in conjunction with reports dealing with other countries and their computer technologies as well. British humor is especially evident in this particular video.
